I'm talking about Florida, the Sunshine State, and more specifically South Florida.Great weather is the main reason why people escape to this peninsula, but its the everyday life that keeps people down here longer then their week long getaway allows.I've heard of people coming down here for a three day getaway, and never go back - except to pack up their belongings.With thousands of people flocking to the Sunshine state every day, Its hard to imagine that any other place in North America can make that claim.
Living in South Florida for as long as I have, has been a fantastic and rewarding experience every step of the way.So, everyone knows about the nearly perfect weather that engulfs the state and they may have heard about the long stretches of beaches that are located here - but the nightlife is just as impressive.A long line of A-listers have been known to come down to South Florida and witness for themselves that second to maybe New York and Los Angeles, South Florida is a happening spot.
From time to time, the weather does cause us some trouble, but that is few and far between.The weather does come with the territory, and although most of the time it is nice, hurricanes do sweep in from time to time and it does make for a scary situation.The Northeast has snow storms, the Northwest has mudslides and the middle of the country has to deal with tornadoes, and since the hurricane season hasn't been quite as powerful, the risk is still there.You take the good with the bad while living or visiting Miami.
Another exciting thing about escaping to south Florida is all the difference influences that engulf this area.Food, drink, the different vernacular that people speak, adds to the flair of south Florida.The night clubs that sit along Collins Avenue in Miami or Las Olas boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale have some unique sounds that, in a lot of cases, haven't broke through to the rest of the country - which makes South Florida the birth place of a lot of popular music.I love food, and the different flavors that give your taste buds a journey to the tropics where spices and a laid back atmosphere is bountiful.
In South Florida you are surrounded by adventure on both land and water that goes on from the time you wake up will the time you retire for the evening.Watching the sun go to bed every night while sailing on a sunset cruise is on of my personal favorite things to do.You like out door activities?Golf is just the tip of the outdoor activity iceberg, as there are more golf courses per square miles located here then most places in the country.
People from all walks of life visit this salty piece of land.I suppose that adds to the diversity that is south Florida living.No reason is needed why there is such an influx of people that come down here and, for some, choose not to leave.So, if you're looking for a new lifestyle and escape that cabin fever like existence, come down to South Florida with a suitcase full of shorts, cotton t-shirts and your favorite pair of flip flops.
