Nokia E72 is a desirable 3G smartphone integrated with several business and personal features and operates on Symbian 9.3 operating system with series S60 3.2 edition software. Whereas, Samsung i8000 Omnia II is a beautiful touchscreen phone operates on Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system version 6.1.

The former one comprises 2.4 inches TFT screen displaying 16 Million colours at 320 x 240 Pixels resolution and the latter one is wider than its rival as it has 3.7 inches AMOLED touchscreen supporting 65k colours at 480 x 800 Pixels resolution.

Nokia E72 is of 128 grams and dimensions are 114 x 58 x 10 mm. It is blessed with full QWERTY keyboard with Five-way scroll key and Optical trackpad. On the contrary, its contender is of 117 grams and the dimensions are 118 x 59.6 x 11.9 mm. It doesn’t comprise QWERTY keyboard but here you will get TouchWiz 2.0 UI, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and handwriting recognition feature.

Both of the devices have 3G HSDPA, HSUPA, WLAN Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE connectivity choices and 5 MP camera but Samsung I8000 Omnia2 is little bit advanced in camera functions. Front facing camera for video calling is also available on both widgets.

You can access Web via Nokia Browser, HTML & XHTML Browser on Nokia E72 but its competitor allows accessing Internet through Opera 9.5 Browser and HTML browser.

Messaging services are SMS, MMS, Instant Messaging and Email with Attachment on Nokia E72 but its challenger allows sending SMS, MMS, Email and Instant Messaging with Predictive Text.

The internal memory is 250 MB, 128 MB RAM and up to 16 GB can be upgraded on Nokia E72 and Samsung I8000 Omnia2 comes in three memory sizes including 2GB, 8GB & 16GB and up to 32GB is expansible here.

Nokia has presented its device with PDF Viewer, document editor and A GPS Navigation system with Nokia Maps Application but Samsung has equipped its phone only with document viewer and A GPS system.

For providing music Nokia E72 has FM radio with RDS, Visual radio and its music player supports MP3/WMA/WAV/RA/AAC/M4A but Samsung I8000 Omnia2 has FM radio with RDS, FM recording and the music player supports MP3, WMA & eAAC+ file formats.
