The E5 is one of several new handsets from Nokia. This particular model boasts key features such as a full QWERTY keyboard, 5 mega pixel digital camera and Wi-Fi Internet access. One look at the spec list, and when it comes to the conclusion that this handset is aimed the everyday functionality.

In order to stay connected to cellular networks and the Internet, the Nokia E5 utilises several methods.  Access to the Internet relies primarily on 3G coverage whereby an HSDPA connection provides access to the Internet at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second.  The alternative method of connecting to the Internet is courtesy of inbuilt Wi-Fi Technology which takes advantage of the signals provided by wireless Internet routers.  When detected, the Nokia E5 utilises these to provide users with a faster browsing experience at broadband speeds.  Class 32 GPRS and class 32 EDGE provide connection to cellular networks whilst Bluetooth and micro USB connections allow users to connect the handset to other compatible hardware devices such as other phones and computers.

The 5 mega pixel digital camera operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels, resulting in excellent quality still images.  Integrated features such as fixed focus and LED flash simplify the task of taking quality photos, whilst an alternative method of image capture is provided thanks to the ability to record video in VGA quality at 15 frames per second.

A number of exciting entertainment features is included such as a versatile internal media player, access to a library of downloadable games and a stereo FM radio player.  Integrated productivity tools include a handy organiser and voice command/dial.

The Nokia E5 handset measures 115x 58.9x 12.8 mm making it compact and pocket friendly and a pleasure to hold and use, especially when coupled with its light weight of just 126 g.  The appearance of the handset could be described as similar to many BlackBerry models, with the facia dominated by a quite a keyboard.  The handset will be available in a range of different colour variants upon its upcoming release.  These include carbon black, chalk white, sky blue, copper brown and silver grey.  Therefore a style to suit most tastes is sure to be found.
