Its no fashion for Desert coolers, we talk more about air conditioners today. But really ? There is no place for desert coolers in the hot seasons, this can certainly be a false statement as desert coolers are best for dry seasons.

In India if we see majority of the population they still have desert coolers at their places instead of air conditioners. Air conditioners has always been blamed for increasing electricity bills and which is in no doubt a true fact. And for many buying an air conditioner is now a necessity. If we see in India almost 8-9 months of the year is packed up with summers and for ages people have always put up with dry coolers only. And for hyper dry seasons desert coolers turn to be the best possible thing. COST is one more important factor if we see, as at the time of dry humid climate we need more cooling appliances and that needs lots of  money to be invested. For Desert coolers the cost is almost around 7,000-8,000 and for Air conditioners the cost is almost four times and yet it is not effective in dry season.

With increasing humidity the possibility for electricity in houses decreases very much and if having an air conditioner which already takes up more electricity will be a bad idea. Desert coolers don’t take much of electricity and if in case of electricity fallout it can work on Inverter.

With dry climate and humidity there is more effects on the climate, and air conditioners make it worse. Air conditioners remove the rooms moisture from the air and there is more dryness in the room. And their is no fresh air in the room.

Air coolers are very much likable in this case, as the fresh air is taken inside the room and the room is always fresh. This even maintains the outside temperature and we don’t feel uneasy.

Air coolers are much greener and can be a best option for humid climate. As air coolers use water as refrigerant, whereas Air conditioners use CFC’s which are anyday harmful for environment. So air coolers should be used to have a safe environment, air coolers uses 80-90% less electricity as compared to AC’s and the immersed carbon from air conditioners can be used for further in generating electricity.

The most common place where people install desert air coolers is on one of the windows in a room. But at times there are situations when there is no window or a very small window in a room. In case you have option of setting up an air cooler on the terrace, then you can set up a big air cooler on the terrace with a pipe/vent system to deliver air in all rooms. Such a setup will also help reduce the sound in a room generated by air coolers.

If you live in an area that is hot and dry, air cooler is the best option. It not only helps reduce electricity bills, but also helps improve the air quality in a room. And on top of that it is the greenest option available to you to opt for.
