The Console has four ports for Controllers and two slots for memory cards.  It can lie flat or sit upright. The Console is only 8.5 inches long, 6 inches wide, and less than 2 inches thick.

Wii is backward-compatible to all Nintendo’s Game Cube Games.  This compatibility was one of the key factors in design and engineering considerations by Nintendo management.  It was done for the benefit of all those who already Nintendo customers.

The Remote Controllers and Nunchuks have received considerable attention for their ability to put the player in a direct and intuitive control of the action of the game.  In a tennis game it serves as your racquet as you swing your arm; in a driving game the Remote becomes your steering wheel; for shooters, the Wii Remote Controller acts as you weapon as you point at the enemy.  Potential uses for these devices are endless.

The Nunchuk is designed to fit a players’ hand and is connected to the Wii Remote.  They are used in conjunction with each other. The Nunchuk moves the characters in the game and the Remote has them perform a specific action.  The Nunchuk and Remote are only relatively dependent on each other and can be held in whichever hand is most comfortable for the player.  The ambidextrous nature of the Wii Controllers utilized together permits extraordinary action capabilities.  Action can be taken by from as far as 15 to 30 feet away, and up to 4 Remotes can be connected at one time.  This makes for even more multiplayer fun.  A Classic Controller iallows play of Classic Games and may be purchased separately.

Recent media reports state that Nintendo Wii has surpassed sales of each of the other game systems available.
