If you decide to brave the cold and spruce them up between your regular contracted clean,Get sparkling this winter - Follow our fantastic window cleaning tips Articles then follow these five handy hints to ensure great results!

  1. ALWAYS WIPE DOWN YOUR WINDOW SILLS – Often we will clean our windows, wipe them down and think that the job is done. However, have a think about where all that dirty water runs onto when you have nice clean panes…your sills! Make sure you clean all your window sills and other PVC areas when you have finished achieving that 100% clean feeling!
  2. DON’T OVER DO THE SOAP – It is very tempting to overload the soap when you see your windows in such need of a clean, but don’t! You will be left with unnecessary streaks and residue if you are heavy handed, making the task even longer for yourself.
  3. AVOID THE SUN – You know the scenario; you’re out cleaning your car on a sunny day, you pop inside to fetch the chamois and low and behold on your return your car is covered in horrible water marks! So the best time to clean is when it’s cloudy…but not raining of course!
  4. WHICH WAY TO WASH – You may have never even thought about the way in which you clean your windows, but there is a valid reason to do this! If you wash side to side on the outside and up and down on the inside then any unfortunate streaks left at the end can be easily located as to which side they are on!
  5. HOME AND DRY – When the windows are clean, drying them is the next step. It is important that you use the right type of material to dry the panes otherwise you will be left with lint residue all over the glass! A hard paper towel is usually best, some people even swear by newspaper! Anything with cotton content is best avoided.
