Looking at more recent customer reviews to look at before you buy P90X2.
P90X2 is on the way back or it isn’t?
The answer to that question carries with it a lot of assumptions and guesses. If you ask the people at Beachbody, they’d probably dispute that the program came back from anything because it has always performed well. On the other hand if you talk to people who are into working out and were big into P90X, you might not buy what Beachbody is saying and therefore might not buy P90X2 itself.
What has been the perception? Well the funny thing is that the program has been out now for quite a few months but it still isn’t shaking the idea that it isn’t as good as P90X. The funny part is that it almost has become a self-fulfilling prophesy rather than an actual review based on reality. Most people you talk to have never tried the program, but they know someone who knows someone and the message was coming through loud and clear: don’t buy P90X2.
We first looked at this issue and how it is effecting sales performance back in May, we were forced to admit that the program doesn’t have the great word of mouth it will needs. People won’t buy P90X2 unless it is passing muster with other common people. The existence of positive critical reviews from the fitness press is nice but it is what drove people to get P90X and it wasn’t what will jump start P90X2.
So how is it going? Since May, the reviews on Amazon have been about what they were before: middling. The criticisms center often around things like the program no longer being universal and for everyone. This is one of the core maxims of p90X. That anyone from any fitness level could jump in and do the program and if they stuck with it, you could see great results. When you buy P90X2 currently you are less a part of a community and it is understood that you are looking to take your P90X fitness to next level.
You are also going to realize that your gains will be cosmetic but they’ll likely be even more in how you feel and in performance. Things like agility, balance, and how you feel throughout the day are directly addressed with P90X2 but you aren’t necessarily conditioned to value these things going in. So while you do get in better shape, you aren’t likely to see why it’s important and therefore P90X2 might suffer in your eyes. I don’t know if this is a problem that will ever really go away for the program.
