Proper Business Suits for Women

It is always smart to have a matching two-piece suit in basic color. Business suits for women should be their interview attire if they want to look serious about the job they’ve been eyeing. A working girl’s closet should never be without the right length skirt. This should not be too tight or mini.  Blouses should never be sleeveless if you plan to wear them without a jacket inside the office. Plain cotton or silk blouses are fine. Blouses should also be in the right size and fit. They should never be too tight or loud.

You can observe the culture in your office if you are a new hire, and see what the other employees wear before deciding on the right kind of blouse to wear. But business suits for women in a conservative company allow only tops in neutral color and print.  If you plan to match your suit with square scarf, always go for classic 34-inch silk scarf that could compliment your overall look. Be careful about the prints, though. Simple color and pattern is best.

The right shoes are also important in women business suits. As a standard, closed shoes of about an inch and a half are appropriate. Classic colors are black, brown and burgundy. Open toe shoes as well as stilettos are not proper for business attire. Stocking are also considered standard in corporate attire. As a rule, light colored stockings should be worn with light colored suits.  Simple jewelry such as a small pearl earrings and watch is enough for your look.

Some women are tired of wearing the same suit over and over again and tend to mix and match pieces together. What they do is buy versatile pieces that are easy to mix with other items. This is good if they know how to combine clothes tastefully. The basic rule is to know the colors that blend together. They try to add color to their look by wearing a nicely printed blouse and pairing it with a bottom and jacket of the same color. This is done to jazz up the plain look. Women business suits are created to wear something professional in the workplace, but stylish women can always glam it up successfully using their creativity. It is not impossible to dress up tastefully in the office and be taken seriously. But those who can’t stand wearing conservative suits should always remember that they are in the workplace to work and mean business.
