The 40th New York marathon has come to an end on November 7, 2010. It is the one of the most sports events in the world and it attracted more than 40 thousand runners. The participates started the routine in Stanton Island, then through Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. They returned Manhattan Central Park, not only the views attracted the runners around the world, but also the people they encountered and the moving stories happened there.
The Big Apple Marathon
The New York Marathon was the most popular marathon in the world result in two reasons. First, the New York itself is a big attraction to the runners; they can enjoy the running and also enjoy the views of the Big Apple. Second, people can compete with the top athletes from the globe and the funny dressed runners from other countries can be a great party. They wired dressed people are the real heroes in the event and they are more eye catching that the top runners. It’s not a competition, but a great party like the World Expo. You can stop anywhere you want and they you can just take a seat and be the cheerleader. You will also feel being one of them even stop halfway.
How Funny Is Too Funny?
There are thousands of funny dressed people among the whole team. It would be your loss that you missed the parade. You can see people from Europe wearing soccer jerseys which they get from online store. There you can also see people dressed like Dough Boy, Tiger and Beatles. Someone even finish the path with a wine bottle and someone carry the Eiffel Tower. If you saw them you would think what can be funnier.

The event actually bring quite profitable for the local tourism. It bring about 250 million USD income for the local tourism. Those people from Great Britain, German, Italia, France and Holland are in quite big groups. They will live stay in the city for more than one week, there in the hotel they can get a prize for the performance you get. The prize might be a 150 dollar sports watch, a bottle of red wine or a box of chocolates. Some people even brought their whole families. They will spend thousands of dollars in the city.
The Chile Mine Survivor
The most special runner is not the marathon world champions; it would be the Chile mine survivor Evans PeiNa who once experienced the dead dark under the ground for 70 days. He finished the whole path with 5 hours 40 minutes and 51 seconds; it can be ranked in the 40 thousand people. But he it is shorter than he expected. He stopped for some treatment for his knee and with the cheers of other people he finished the race. His participation is to encourage the youth and he said that he feel so relaxed while running.
