Acrodermatitis: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

These days' skin disorders have become so prevalent. Many people get affected by them.

Acrodermatisis is such a skin disorder. It includes the growth of skin abrasions which happens for a brief period only. These abrasions can be due on the various parts of the body which include back, upper chest, arms, back and thighs. This disease also has the other name of grover's disease.

The disease can cause a problem when its produces sweating. In fact, the abrasions also have burns which include liquid. These burns actually occur in groups and are also characterized by red border. So, the sufferers also feel that their skin itches due to these burns and abrasions.

Although any person can contract this diseases, it generally happen in men who are more than 50 years old. Women are less likely to contract it. The disease may just vanish within a year or two of its occurrence. The disease just starts happening without any kind of precursors. So, it starts with development of such scratchy spots. Most of the times, the burns are also accompanied with excessive skin growth. Although the cause of this disease has not been found so far, it happens due to the impact of skin burns. Even a person who has been advised bed rest can experience further incidence of this disease which is not advised.

There are many cures of this disease. It is important that the ailment is treated with patience. Losing patience can cause trouble because it produces more sweating. More sweating will only cause proliferation of the scratchy spots. Since the most rampant cause is the overexposure to heat, so, when the skin is chilled the disease can vanish. So, sit in an air conditioned room so that the sweat ducts are released. Their blocking is one of the reasons of the disease. Creams like cortisone creams can control the small eruptions on the skin. But, important eruptions can only be cured when taking one tetracycline pills. A person suffering from this ailment should avoid going out in the sun.

A very unique form of acrodermatitis is caused when zinc is not sucked properly from the food consumed by a person. So, a person can get rid of acro dermatitis when zinc is supplemented in the diet. Due to lack of zinc absorption, apart from dermatitis, other kinds of skin disorders can also happen. Acrodermatitis can be caused due to other kinds of infections. For example, in Italy children get this disease when they are already suffering from hepatitis B. however, this kind of an association between hepatitis B and this disease is absent in USA. This disease can be caused by a virus named Epstein-Barr virus.

Sometimes, this disorder is also companied with a fever. A skin biopsy test is also done to find out about the condition of the patient. It can reveal whether a person has scratches on his skin due to this ailment or not.
