Michael Greger M.D. says that over 1,000 Americans die a day due to high blood pressure or hypertension. Joel Fuhrman M.D. says that everyone gets it if they live long enough. New research shows that all high blood pressure is caused by one thing. Also there is more confusion about this one thing about anything else.

Now very reputable places agree that it is very bad like CDC,Add 25 Years to Your Life With Nutrition Breakthrough Articles the AMA, Harvard School of Public Health, WebMD and more. But still doctors like Mercola and Brownstein (I have a book by him on iodine) say that it is good for you. One thing is very clear. This substance is not a food. Maybe you should steer clear of people who tell you to eat a non-food.

You have to learn a little science to understand this. I was a chemist for the U.S. federal government. Food is plant and animals. Biology teaches that plant creates foods out of non-foods, like minerals, air, sunlight and water and animal eat foods. Since plants can make food out of minerals, urine or manure is good for them. But I am teaching that manure and urine are not good for you to consume since they are not foods. Aren't you glad that you read this so you don't eat manure.

Rust is a great source of iron and chalk is a great source of calcium but you should not eat them. Why? Because they are not foods. Now WebMD has a very easy to find article that tells how using this substance like 99% of people do, is worse than smoking. So webMD says to be healthier, start smoking and give up this substance and you will be healthier. They are making a point. You do not have to start smoking.

Their article is called Cutting Salt is as Good as Quitting Smoking. That's webMD that gets a million visitors a day. They say: "Cutting U.S. salt intake by just half a teaspoon a day would prevent up to 92,000 deaths, 99,000 heart attacks, and 66,000 strokes -- a benefit as big as smoking cessation."

You can read about studies that say that chimps and rats do not get high blood pressure. But if you have them eat salt they do get it and it is worse the more salt that you get them to eat. If you take the salt away, then the hypertension goes away. They found a tribe in the Amazon rainforest that eat no salt. Their blood pressure stays as low as they were a baby even if they get old.

High blood pressure is something that 40% of Americans age 40 or above have. Over 65% of Americans, over age 65, have high blood pressure. Over 75% of Americans, over age 75, have high blood pressure. The CDC says that everyone who ages have hardening of the arteries. But that applies to the people who eat salt. The tribe that eats no salt has no hypertension just like the chimps, rats and all wild animals.

Forty years ago, before they had any drugs, a doctor would get patients with blood pressure of 210/150. Now without drugs that meant certain death. Walter Kempner M.D. would get these people to not eat salt. Their high blood pressure went to normal levels. Salt does not make food taste better. It makes food taste salty which is an addiction you get from eating salt. I eat potatoes without any salt and use other spices that are foods, and they taste so delicious.

So all you have to do is give up eating salt and you can live another 25 years and also avoid a lot of health problems. Hypertension is the cause of the first and third leading causes of death that are heart attack and strokes. As far as the 2nd leading cause of death, cancer, look up some of my articles on this.

Now there are studies that say that salt is good for you. The more you eat, the less problems that you have that are associated with salt. The people who think salt is good for you, quote those studies. Dailymail has an article called "Why salt is addictive: It stimulates the brain cells just like cigarettes and hard drugs." It says:

"A recent University of Exeter study of almost 6,500 people concluded there was 'no strong evidence' that lowering levels in the diet reduced the risk of heart disease or premature death. In fact it found that cutting back on salt actually raises the likelihood of death in some patients with heart problems."

Now these studies are not fake studies like many are. They approximate the amount of salt people take by how much is in their urine. They assume that the more salt in their urine, the more that they take. It is actually the reverse of this. See the salt that the bodies get rid of-- cannot hurt you. The salt that is kept by the body causes all these problems. So the people that consume the least salt, they think are the people that consume the most salt. It is like the radio station that dumped many turkeys from their helicopter. They thought they would fly away and they all fell to their death. Turkeys cannot fly very well.
