Sexually transmitted diseases may manifest with skin issues,Are skin tags contagious? Can they spread from one person to another Articles for instance, which is something that some individuals may have to deal with. Even with this problem, you’ll find that there are some things that can transmit to others, and some that won’t. With that in mind, you may want to look into what skin tags are, especially if they end up coming through the pubic region as you may panic when you see them.

What Are Skin Tags?

The first thing that you should know is that skin tags are not dangerous. They are not cancerous, they are not going to cause much disruption in your life, and will not be in places that are too personal. Yes, they can appear on pubic regions, and could very well cause major disruption of your overall life, but they usually do not come through with pain, or any sort of discharge. These are not going to bleed, they are not going to puss, they are not going to be irritated, they will simply appear and are benign in nature.

The cause of skin tags can be attributed to a number of different reasons. The main cause is friction within the skin. Your skin may rub against itself, or other regions. When that occurs, you’ll find that a small amount of collagen may come through, and cause a small growth to appear. Some medical issues can be associated with this, and they include diabetes, rapid weight loss or gain, allergic reaction, and other elements associated with dermal irritation and allergic reactions.

Are Skin Tags Contagious?

The short answer to this question is simple, no. Skin tags are not going to transmit from one person to another. If you were to touch them, or encounter them on someone else, you are not going to immediately get them. They are not sexually transmitted diseases, and they are not something that you are going to have to deal with through contact. They are not contagious at all. This is not something that you have to worry about like warts, or anything like that. They are not going to cause problems in the same manner.

Do They Spread?

Skin tags come up due to friction, and they do not spread like other diseases of the skin. If you were to scratch them, if you were to cause any sort of issue, you will not immediately get this problem across your skin like chicken pox or anything like that. Spreading this is not the same as other options, it’s that simple.

At the end of the day, you could self-medicate and get these removed. You’ll find that it’s easy to work with, and something that you can easily move away from if you just focus on the right balance. Either way, these are not contagious and will not cause problems.
