There is another procedure extensively apply in Fertilization Clinics in UK and around the Europe is the ICSI. The Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) procedure may be used as part of an In Vitro Fertilisation method that helps to the couples to conceive a baby. The Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection treatment is the most successful form of treatment for a man who can´t reproduce or which sperm can´t fertilize the egg or get to it but doesn´t fertilize it.

Fertility clinics uses the Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection in almost half of all In Vitro Fertilisation treatments because in this method,ICSI Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Articles the technicians only need 1 sperm which is injected directly inside the egg to fertilize it and then it is transferred to the female´s uterus. In this case, the sperm doesn’t have to journey to the egg or penetrate its external layers.

The Fertility Clinics in London use this treatment in cases when the man has:

- Low numbers of sperm

- A high percentage of abnormally shaped sperm. This can result in poor motility, which means that the sperm can´t swim well.

- Sperm that can´t be ejaculated but can be collected from the testicles or the duct where the sperm is storage.

- Problems with having an erection and ejaculating, due to spinal cord injuries or diabetes, for examples.

The ICSI Success Rates are great, even when the chance of getting pregnant decreases with the women´s age. In 2008 the success rates in UK were:

- For women aged under 35, the rate was 35,1%.

- For women between 35 and 37, the success rate was 28,5%.

- For women whose age was between 38 and 39, the rate was of 20,6%.

- Women between 40 and 42 had a success rate of 13,8%.

- Women aged 43 and 44 had a 6,4% of success.

- Form women aged over 44 the success rate was of 5,1%.
