Precautions to be taken during COVID 19 Pandemic

Let’s first see what corona virus is & how it spread in human body.

 

  • The above word itself defines that the corona virus is a type of respiratory virus that nowadays is spreading frequently in human body. It causes illness ranging from common cold to severe diseases such as serve acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

 

Now how it spreads:-

And if you are within close contact to such infected person then you also get infected or by touching contaminated surfaces and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Even the people without symptoms can also transmit the viruses from one person to other.
  • Consumption of virus containing animal product leads in transmission of the viruses.
  • Through public gatherings, meetings, using of public transportation is one of the major cause of spreading of the viruses.

 

Where did it originated from???

  • China alerted the WHO to cases unusual pneumonia in Wuhan in December 31. COVID 19 is thought to be originated from seafood market where wildlife was sold illegally. And on February 7, the China researches said the virus could spread from an infected animal to humans and even scientist has pointed that either bats or snakes can also be a possible source of this virus.

Symptoms

Common signs & symptoms :-

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Tiredness

 

Other Symptoms are :-

  • Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Chest pain
  • Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)
  • Runny Nose
  • Rash
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting

 

Other serious medical conditions that increase the risk of COVID 19 especially in old age people are :-

  • Cancer
  • Severe obesity
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Weakened immune system
  • Serious heart disease
  • Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
  • Liver Disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Asthma
  • Brain and nervous system conditions

 

Precautions we can take to prevent from Corona Viruses:-

  • Maintain hygiene
  • Wash your hand thoroughly with soap and water. Scrub carefully between the fingers and round the nails. Use hand wash, sanitizers or alcohol sterilizers to clean your hands, and do not touch your nose or mouth otherwise.

 

  • Keep a safe distance from the sick people
  • Avoid direct physical contact with the sick people, especially from those who have flu, cold, cough or respiratory problems.

 

  • Cover your mouth
  • Keep your mouth cover with masks, cloth or tissue papers when you are around someone who is coughing or sneezing. And if you are sick, use medical mask & you should sterilize the mask or cloth time to time by just warm it up.

 

  • Heat up your food thoroughly
  • And if you have brought something eatable or anything from outside first sanitize that item. And for eatables you should heat up your food properly before consuming it as virus could not survive at high temperatures.

 

  • Seek Medical care
  • Always have early medical care from the healthcare professions even in case of normal, mild symptoms like coughing, sneezing, and fever or having difficulty in breathing. Self preventive care is very helpful in these cases.

 

  • Don’t travel when you are sick
  • Avoid traveling in public places, buses and sharing taxis when you have fever, coughing, sneezing and immediately contact to healthcare for proper medical care.

 

  • Direct contact with animals
  • Avoid unnecessary, direct contact with animals because virus can be transmitted from animals to humans. So if anyone has pets in their homes then they should take proper care of hygiene.

 

  • Do Exercise or Yoga
  • Do regularly some exercise or yoga to boost your immunity.
