Veterinarians keep your dog healthy so your dog can keep you happy for many years to come. You have to protect your dog's ability to do all those destructive things you somehow still find charming.

Scrappy Doo may have been more annoying than words could ever convey,Puppy Power! Articles but there is no denying the power of puppy cuteness. Whether you have an adorably stumbling two month old gamboling through your house or a dog that has actually grown into his very large feet, your veterinarian is your other best friend.

Vaccinations are as important for the small and furry as they are for small humans, especially for those who spend a lot of time roaming the streets. Don't discount an annual checkup and new rabies tag for his collar. That bling is more valuable than you might think. Not only do you protect your dog from rabies, you protect yourself from lots of long needles should you end up living one of those awful movies where an always friendly dog infects you with something dreadful. Cujo, anyone?

As Bob Barker always reminded us, "Please spay or neuter your pets." He was right. It is the responsible thing to do. Even if you can't convince yourself that it is actually better for your dog, it's better for you. How many puppies do you want to house train at a time? Think about it. Do you really want to live in 101 Dalmations? Now that you're ready to cut down on the stray dog population of your neighborhood, make an appointment with your veterinarian today.

Scooby snacks may not be on the menu for your furry best friend, but that does not mean he can't be rewarded for being ridiculously happy to see you every time you walk in the front door. Before you spend hours staring and staring at the wall o' dog biscuits at your local pet supply superstore, ask your veterinarian for a recommendation on which box of crunchy goodness is best for your dog's health.

Many of these treats help can with dental hygiene and keep your canine's canines strong and sharp. While this may not seem like the best outcome while your young pup keeps chewing his way through the left shoe of every pair you own - and somehow never the right ones - you'll be grateful when his later years still include chomping through that stick you thought would be fetched more than once.

Your dog is family to you. Your dog may even be your absolute favorite of your kids. Take care of him. He can't tell you that he isn't feeling well. He can't explain why his leap for that Frisbee lacked gusto last Saturday afternoon. He trusts you to get him back on those gigantic feet that leave amazing, muddy prints on the kitchen floor. He'd thank you for that trip to the vet if he weren't busy giving you sad puppy dog eyes. Toss him a Scooby snack. His tail will be wagging soon enough.
