Regenerative artificial skin is a tissue scaffolding which causes regeneration of human skin. The terminology was first used in the late 1970's and early 80s to describe an innovative new therapy for large burn victims. It was soon found that such treatment of deep tissue wounds in humans and animals with this tissue scaffolding also causes regeneration of the epidermis.
