Karaoke is an interesting activity that has more components to it then you may realize.  Above all else,Karaoke Machine Etiquette Articles karaoke relies on people.  Whether it is the person singing on stage, the owner of the establishment, or the staff at the bar.  Without people behind it, karaoke could not possibly exist in any form whatsoever.  For this reason it is important to be aware of the folks around you and keep common courtesy in mind.  Karaoke is a social and communal activity and in order for you to have the most fun, you should keep an eye on the way you interact with others.  You may have already noticed, but karaoke is not dependent on the talent of the singers.  Rather, a good attitude among everyone involved is what keeps the unique act of karaoke live.  Here are some of the people that you should consider in a karaoke bar.

1.  The singers.  It might be tempting to make fun of a particular singer who seemingly has no talent.  But remember that it takes a certain degree of guts to get up on stage in the first place.  Without the singers, good or bad, there would be no show.  So try to be as supportive as possible in appreciation for performers who just want to have a good time.

2.  The crowd.  As a member of the crowd it is your responsibility to pay attention to what is going on stage.  Never go to a karaoke bar if you just want to hang out and talk with your friends.  You will always have to be a part of the show to a certain degree by applauding and cheering when appropriate.

3.  The staff.  Sometimes the staff of a karaoke bar gets forgotten in the excitement of the night.  But remember that a karaoke environment is actually quite difficult to work in.  So be nice to your waitresses and remember to tip them well.  These are certainly not normal conditions in which to work, and serving drinks and snacks certainly warrants your appreciation.  Similarly be kind to your bartender and it knowledge his efforts as well.

4.  The karaoke DJ or host.  This is the person who serves as the emcee for the evening.  Sometimes they become popular enough that they are main attractions themselves.  They are often busy people, but it is also their job to make sure that customers are happy.  So if you plan to become a regular at a karaoke bar or club try to establish a good reporter with the DJ your host.  Eventually this will benefit you if you ever want to get up on stage to sing.
