Cleaning Mirrors with a Homemade Solution

Mirrors in our homes are easily stained and they attract dirt and dust that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. We should spend time to make them clean and streak-free for best results. Most often they will be soiled with fingerprints and different styling products such as a hair spray, for example. Even though some people spend a lot of money for commercial cleaning agents, you can choose another method. With some household products you will have pretty much the same results. Once you have prepared the cleaner, you can store it either in a spray bottle or an empty window cleaner bottle. This way you can use the solution several times. Now it is time to prepare it, first.

•  The products that will be needed for this task are a spray bottle, dish soap and vinegar. An alternative of vinegar is rubbing alcohol, but I believe that every home owner have vinegar in his/her home. The first task is to add 1 qt. warm water to the spray bottle. Next you should add 2 tbsp. of plain white vinegar. If you can not find any vinegar around, just replace it with 1 1/2 tbsp. of rubbing alcohol. Professionals cleaners in Sutton claim that if you use rubbing alcohol as a cleaning substance and apply the mixture on outside mirrors ( ex. mirrors of your vehicle), the rubbing alcohol will resist freezing during winter.
•  Another ingredient that will be needed is 1/2 tsp. liquid dish soap. Add it to the mixture and stir gently to mix the products. The final results should be suds appearing on the top. The role of the dish soap is to prevent fog on bathroom mirrors. 
•  At this point you can replace the lid of the bottle that was used to store the solution. Don't forget to add the content and the usage of the liquid  on the label of the bottle. This way there is no risk to make a mistake and to use it for totally different purpose. 
•  Now, it is time to apply the cleaning mixture on your mirror. To prevent streaks wipe off with either paper towels or crumpled newspaper and work in long and even strokes.
