One man's blog can be immensely enjoyable,Blog - Good Reasons to Have One Articles and can also earn him money. But you may be asking "A blog? But wouldn't a website be even better? Which one is the better choice?" To address this question let's examine the important characteristics of both.

1. Expense

A decent looking website is not free. Even if you could get someone to design it at no charge (a questionable proposition), the hosting will cost at least $10-20 per annum. However, it's possible to have your own blog without paying a cent.

2. Getting up and running

Setting up a website can be time consuming, and require special skills. Conversely, setting up a blog is fast and requires no special skills.

The procedure is a matter of filling in some information; and it's conceived with the layperson in mind. One man's blog can easily be set up in about 30 minutes by just about anyone, and yet be every bit as fine as any first rate website.

A first-class website can require as much as a month to make "live". But it only takes a half hour or less to set up a Blog!

3. Generating income

You can make some good money with a website by promoting various affiliate products. A blog can do so too, and just as well provided measures are taken to market it.

Any one man's blog will work as well as a website of similar quality.

4. Aesthetics

Websites can have a great many cool effects like videos, audios, and animation. Your blog spot by comparison may not be able to include all the high-tech stuff, though it has enough to put up a good show. Therefore one man's blog spot might not be as "flashy", but every bit as effective.

5. Manning and marketing

A blog usually has content added on a regular basis. That being the case it's clear why blogging can draw in more traffic in comparison to a website assuming equal effort. It's simpler to add new content to a blog than to a website.

The blog is thus self-promoting itself, because every time new content is added it is re-indexed by the search indents. But to promote a website requires a greater investment in time to attract visitors.

Regardless of whether or not you already have a website, it's definitely worthwhile to put up a blog. It is not surprising then to find one man's website supported by various blogs that were put up to send traffic to the website. Blogging can be very pleasurable as well because it permits you to interact with other people, share stories, videos, and images etc. without spending a dime. A number of people who first had websites eventually moved to blogging because it's easy, can be done at no cost, and can be updated continuously.

The question therefore should not be "Why have a blog?" but rather "Why would you not have a blog?" The benefits being so numerous it would be foolish for anyone not to take advantage of this excellent opportunity.
