If you find that you're experiencing more fun and excitement than ever on the internet,How Web 2.0 is Enhancing the Internet Online Experience Articles a lot of it is probably from the many Web 2.0 applications that are now available to enhance the functions of the internet. Web 2.0 is a method of web development where applications as well as the functions they each are capable of can be integrated to make specific applications capable of doing many things.

Web 2.0 has a different meaning and purpose for each individual, whether businesses, journalists, marketers or everyday users, Web 2.0 will serve their purpose by providing more varieties of communication, media, software development or just providing an efficient platform for business. Many web-based communities, applications and hosted services have been developed by Web 2.0 including wikis, video-sharing sites, social-networking sites and blogs to name just a few.

When the world was first introduced to the internet, they were in awe of the many things it offered but they couldn't begin to imagine back then the many options we'd have available to us as internet users today. Every time we think things are as good as we could possibly have them, a new form of internet technology is developed. One method of advancement that's taken the world by storm is the change from Web1.0 to Web 2.0.

Don't misunderstand me-Web1.0 was great and offered internet users and marketers a lot of possibilities. It allowed the user to provide the World Wide Web with a lot of helpful information. However, as information changed, the user had to be constantly updating it. With Web 2.0, a lot of this extra work is done automatically for us.

While it's still the responsibility of the user to provide the information to keep their audience captivated, Web 2.0 makes it much easier. See, today people are interested in surfing the web for more than just information. They're selling, they're buying, they're listening to music, watching videos, running businesses, advertising and much more. Web 2.0 makes this easier for the user as well as the zillions of viewers performing these actions.

Where in the past, users could post all the information they wanted and only hope that internet users would happen to stumble onto it. Today with the many applications and services Web 2.0 provides such as blogging sites, video-sharing, photo-sharing, wikis and many more, information can be easily shared with others all around the globe. Because of the popularity of so many of these applications, networkers are able to target their individual niche to narrow down their viewers to those sharing the same interests. While many of these applications were around over a decade ago, their functionality was very limited until Web 2.0 brought in their innovative ideas and turned the internet into a phenomenon development in technology.

An example of how Web 2.0 will enhance your internet experience can be seen in Flickr, a photo sharing program. Prior to Web 2.0, photographers had Kodak Express by Web1.0, a great site that allowed used to upload pictures from their camera, view them and have them printed out. This was great until Web 2.0 developed Flickr, a site that allows you to upload your pictures and share them with millions of others in the Flickr community, who can also view them and print them out. While this change in technology is fantastic, it's only one of the many enhancements Web 2.0 has brought to the internet.
