With the 2010 census data coming out, it is possible to see that there is a need for divorce lawyers in rural America.

A couple of decades ago,Divorce Lawyer: Rural America Needs Your Services Articles many rural American residents were churchgoers, many women were homemakers, and there was hardly a need for a divorce lawyer.  The 2010 census data shows that this trend has abruptly stopped to the point that rural family break ups is one of the hottest growth areas in the country.  This is not to say, however, that less populated areas now have more marriages ending than in major cities, just that it is increasingly likely for an attorney to be able to make a living doing domestic work outside of the large metropolitan areas.

Because you are as likely to have your marriage end living outside a city as the city dwellers, it is clear that many associated trends are following, too.  These include women working and being more financially independent, as well as the changing of social values such that ending your marriage does not carry the same societal repercussions.

Another of the driving forces behind a greater need for a divorce lawyer in rural America is the fact that on average people living in less urban settings are less likely to have a college degree, making it more likely that they have an unsuccessful marriage.  This is often because of situations where one spouse remains in a blue collar job, while the other spouse obtains a higher education.  This can lead to the couple having divergent interests, feeling as if they are becoming different people, and then eventually separating.

While couples are feeling more liberated now to end their marriage, couples breaking up two or three decades ago were seen by some in their communities as weakness and then shame.  Many in rural America attempted to show strength by showing an outward sense of perfection.  In other words, this meant that your lawn was cut perfectly, and that your family was intact.  While this was accepted for a time, spouses that eventually became educated enough found the self confidence to leave this situation.  As other spouses see this, it was possible for many to feel more confident in ending relationships where they were unhappy.

With an increased need for a remote community to have a divorce lawyer, many rural Americans without advanced degrees are not even getting married and just having children.  This societal trend often was attributed just to poverty in metropolitan areas.  This is no longer the case, as this negative trend has crossed lines into what use to be the most strong and stable family areas in the United States.

In the end, though, just because there is now a need in rural America for a divorce lawyer, this does not mean that former spouses are bound to remain single for the remainder of their lives.  Just as the rate of family breakups has caught up with major cities, many people are now seeing that it is fine for them to remarry again in relationships that are more rational than the ones that they originally had.
