Fathers Day is celebrated in more than fifty countries all over the world on nineteen different days of the year. While the Fathers Day celebrations take place in Germany on Ascension Day, it is celebrated on the last Sunday of September in Australia and New Zealand. Austria, Ecuador, Belgium usually celebrates Fathers Day on the second Sunday of June. The second Sunday of August brings Fathers Day for Brazil and the second Sunday of July is Fathers Day in Uruguay. In India Fathers day will be celebrated in the third Sunday of any year of the month June. This year in 2010 the Fathers day will be on 20th June. 
The celebration of Fathers Day in India is the new concept. This idea has been imported basically from the western countries. However, it is remarkable to note that the idea of observing a day in honor of fathers has been appreciated by Indians to a large extent. Today millions peoples of India celebrate the Fathers Day with lots of fun and excitement. The celebration of Fathers day in India will be in the same way like the US and UK countries. Awareness about the day of the date of Fathers day will be basically in the metropolitan cities and the bigger town in India as because you can find here the great exposure of peoples in the western culture. But for the smaller towns and cities they are thankful to the advertisement and the cards shop those who will give the ideas and remember the time of the Fathers Day.
Just like US and UK Fathers day is celebrated in the country India to express the gratitude and love and respect to your Father. To let him know that how much special he is for you and how much needed he is to all of you. Children give them gifts like flowers, chocolates, watches, shirts, pants, ties, playing things, and also other lovable gifts items of show their affection towards their Father. Giving a small party in home or going outside in any restaurant or going out for the picnic or any movie show is another way of celebrating the Fathers day in India. 
Several schools, colleges, cultural societies in the India organize any function or any cultural programs for the Fathers Day special. The idea behind such programmers is to inspire children to pay due respect to their dad and take care of them. Fathers are also encouraged to spend the full time with their children and instill in them noble values and manners and also give a tight bonding within the family members.
