‘Surely you can’t control tomorrow, you don’t even know what’s going to
happen!’
Oooh, good comeback!
Ok, here’s what I mean…
Obviously I don’t know what’s going to happen to me tomorrow, and I
certainly don’t know what’s going to happen to you!
It isn’t possible to always control our circumstances, but we can *always*
control how we react.
We can either react in a positive or negative way.
Although that sounds simplistic, it’s actually true.
Our instant reaction may change once we consider the situation at hand.
More often than not, an instant reaction that is positive, will *stay*
positive after reflection.
An instant reaction that is negative, however, can be changed most of the
time to a positive one.
This isn’t something that comes easily, and it needs some good old
practice.
It’s well worth the effort though, because in time it will become second
nature to put a positive spin on things.
A positive outlook becomes a powerful habit, and the rewards are great
indeed.
You will notice a lessening of your stress levels, which in turn will leave
you more energised.
The more energised you are, the more motivation you feel, which will
allow you to take decisive action in all areas of your life.
Of course what I’m not saying here, is that life is always rosey, because it
isn’t.
(Blimey, this isn’t Sesame Street!)
Bad things happen to all of us (including on Sesame Street), but it is a
choice as to whether you let the bad things break you or pass over you.
So even though your reaction might be the only thing you can control
about tomorrow, it’s a powerful, powerful tool.
It’s a free tool, and all the happy people you know?
They all use it!
