In US politics,Important Details On Conservative Vs Liberal Articles there are two main party distinctions: liberals, conservatives. These two are split on many key issues that plague the country today, including climate change and global warming, energy, death penalty, stem cell research, abortion, gun control, immigration, homeland security, the economy, and affirmative action. There is usually disagreement in conservative vs liberal discussions. When it comes to political views, there are some differences between the two. The conservative types prefer that there is a smaller government in place that has less regulation. They believe that many of the services should be offered through the private sector that operates in a free market. Furthermore, they interpret the Constitution in a very literal sense. Contrastingly, liberals think there should be more services and regulation put in place by government officials. They are for programs such as universal health care that go to benefit lesser earners. These kinds of programs should be provided to citizens by the US government, believes most liberals. Even on topics that relate to the economy, there is a split between the groups. Liberals hold that the government should provide services that are geared toward less fortunate people, for instance: health care programs. They also suggest increasing taxes, if that is what needs to happen to make these programs comes to fruition. Liberals think high earners should pay a bigger percentage of income when it comes to taxes. Conservatives are for less taxing and spending by the government. They think that cutting spending is crucial to balancing the budget, which is a top priority. People who earn more should be given incentive to make investments and charity should be left to the people. Social issues cause divide between the two groups as well. Liberals think that gay couples deserve equal rights, the same that are given to other same-sex couples. They think abortion should be legalized and kept that way. They support embryonic stem cell research as well. On the topic of gun control, liberals believe in stronger restrictions and regulations. Many conservatives are against abortion, stem cell research and gay marriage. They support the right to bear arms and are in favor of the controversial death penalty. From their point of view, personal responsibility is just that: personal. People who consider themselves to be liberal often take the stance the the main job of our government is to provide structure. The laws that are enforced are meant to protect people and better establish equality in the society. Said equality comes at the expense of our economic freedom, a risk liberals are willing to take. Conservatives think people should practice personal responsibility and government should only be there to hold them accountable. Laws reflect the interest of the whole society. Conservative vs liberal is an ongoing debate. People that follow the different parties do not agree when it comes to important issues of the time. They have different ideas and perspectives on what will make this country run successfully. Not every conservative or liberal believes the same things as their party. Still, there are avid supporters of certain parties. Conservative and liberal are not the only political parties in the US.
