Visits are accessible from Las Vegas and South Rim and keep running from early morning to early night. From Las Vegas, you can do air-just and landing visits however from South Rim you can just do air-just as the National Park Service bans flights beneath the edge. Further, and in light of the fact that I get a great deal of inquiries on the issue, you can just complete a Skywalk helicopter ride from Las Vegas.

Valentines Day,Best Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours For Valentines Day Articles which is Feb. 14, is just around the corner and if you really want to show the one you love a great time, try a Grand Canyon helicopter ride. But don't wait until the last minute to book the tour. Flights sell out fast this special holiday, especially the ones that depart from Las Vegas.

Tours are available from Las Vegas and South Rim and run from early morning to early evening. From Las Vegas, you can do air-only and landing tours but from South Rim you can only do air-only as the National Park Service bans flights below the rim. Further, and because I get a lot of questions on the matter, you can only do a Skywalk helicopter ride from Las Vegas.

Las Vegas

All Las Vegas tours go over Hoover Dam en route to the Canyon. The air-only tours, which are the cheapest, go over the Canyon before returning to Vegas. The landing-tours go below the rim and land 4,500 feet on the Canyon floor. It's the landing tours that I recommend as the best option for Valentines Day.

Specifically, I like the landing tour that departs from the the Las Vegas Strip and includes free limousine transfers to/from the hotel. This tour also includes a Champagne picnic an extended tour of the Strip from the top to the bottom. There's a sunset version of this tour that I also recommend and it returns to Vegas at dusk as the lights turn on.

For those who more adventure, there are several Skywalk helicopter tours. Again, I like the deluxe one wherein you take off from the Strip and return at dusk as the Strip lights up. You also get VIP Skywalk tickets and and free hotel transfers by stretch limo (for those unfamiliar with the Skywalk, it's an all-glass bridge that lets you walk 75 feet over the edge until you are 3,500 feet over the bottom!).

South Rim

As noted, there are no landing tours at the South Rim. Thus the one I like the best is the 50-minute helicopter ride. It includes flying over the East, North, and South Rims. By the time you've completed this tour you'll have seen up to 75 percent of the Canyon. Or consider the combo tour that combines a 30-minute helicopter with a 2-hour Jeep tour (also comes with a sunset option).

Each of the tours I've recommended so far come with the newer, more modern helicopter called the EcoStar 130. The choppers are 20 percent larger than conventional helicopters. They also come with a 180-degree windshield, stadium-style seats and extremely good climate control (important for winter flights AND summer flights if you plan on doing the trip later in the year).

Conclusion

I hope this article about the best Grand Canyon helicopter tours for Valentine's Day helped you plan you romantica adventure. From Las Vegas, I recommend the bottom-landing Champagne picnic tour. And from South Rim, I really like the 50-minute helicopter ride because it lets you see nearly all the Canyon. Remember, Valentine's Day is going to be super busy and it's always best to purchase you tour in advance. Also, remember to book it online in order to get the best seats at the best price. Make sure you successfully complete your booking online because that way you are assured of the getting the Internet discount rate.
