Featuring a neo-Gothic architectural style, the Church was constructed during the reign of the British, in 1857. The credit for the design of the church goes to Colonel J.T. Boileau, a British officer, serving his posting in the city. According to data the design of the church was laid out in 1844.

There are five stained glass windows, which are perhaps the most prominent attractions in the interior of the church. On the outside, there is a huge clock which is set at the tallest part of the structure. This clock was donated by Colonel J.T. Dumbleton. Other than that, the church also houses books and ancient scriptures.
