A real treasure in in Thailand close to Bangkok

Wanting to go to a nice beach that is close to Bangkok,Hua Hin, Thailand - A secret treasure. Articles well a bit over 2 hours drive, we finally get to Hua Hin. One thing I notice about Hua Hin is how clean the roads were, compared to Bangkok it was spotless. Also on the main road I noticed there wasn’t any mobile food stalls (which are all over Bangkok) and it made the streets look a lot better I have to say. The air is also much cleaner and there isn’t much traffic at all.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at a resort right on the beach. After checking in we went to the beach and was amazed that the beach was pretty empty, after all it was a hot day. After walking along the beach I notice that majority of the beach are hotel resorts right on the sand. There is only a few small places where you could get access to the beach (that I could see)

One thing we noticed, on the right hand side of the beach facing the ocean, there was a little mountain with a huge standing buddha statue. It really stands out and looked like something we had to go and see, so we went up to the small mountain and walked to the top. Half way up there was a lookout point, a great view which you can see all of Hua Hin. We continued to go up and we came to a temple that has hundreds of monkey’s, you have to take care as they will try to steal anything from you if you leave it unattended. They also travel in packs so make sure you don’t provoke them as they can get aggressive.
After seeing the monkey’s we went back to our resort and just sat back on our umbrella beach chairs and did nothing

After relaxing at the resort we went out at night on the main road, there is a night market there where you can get all types of local handicrafts, dvd’s, clothes and souvenirs. There is also mobile pubs and seafood stalls which sell great food.
Nightlife in Hua Hin is pretty much non existent, but Hua Hin is a great place to relax and get away from the busy Bangkok, definately be back again some time.

After going to thailand forum, there is many secret treasure to explore.
