Although located in an extremely in the dry desert, Mendoza has an extensive artificial irrigation system which allows for greenery throughout the city as well as to protect the nurturing of the grapes used to make its wines. Most streets have irrigation channels on either side, with bridges for pedestrian and traffic.


The Museo del Pasado Cuyano, located in a 19th century mansion it is a great place to learn about the history of the city. After the museum take a stroll to the Cerro de la Gloria, or “glory hill where there is a monument to the famous General San Martin. At the peak of Cerro de la Gloria there are spectacular views of the city.


Mendoza is home to lush agricultural and grape-growing areas, visit the local area vineyards and taste a delicious selection of wine from the region. Home to some of the world’s most exquisite wines, the sunny and dry Mendoza region boasts the ideal climate for cultivating grapes and produces wines that are regularly celebrated by the international wine community. Known, as Argentina’s wine capital, the city is a must visit destination for all wine enthusiasts.

In addition to the beautiful vineyards, Mendoza enjoys scenic Andean surroundings as it sits right beneath the highest peak in the western hemisphere, Aconagua, which stands at a staggering 22,835 feet.  A hiker’s paradise the mountains provide optimal views of the vineyards below, take a sack lunch and have a picnic while enjoying the scenery.
