When am talking about mistakes or blunders, it's not solely about designing errors. There are other professional blunders too that a business logo design artist commits.

You might be tempted with a designer offering affordable logo design services, but watch out on his professionalism and designing styles. This post will talk about some of the design and professional blunders that a  logo artist commits.

Overestimating Oneself

There are some designers who design a logo without knowing their limitations. They say 'yes' to projects even when they are unsure of it. They even commit on complicated projects, and end up creating a mess!

One should accept projects as per their creative abilities. Doing otherwise will not only hamper your client project, but also earn a bad repute as a designer.

Working Minus a Contract

This is the most common error committed by logo designers. They start working on a logo without a valid contract. Having a contract is necessary for deciding on payments, alterations of design and timely delivery of a project.

Without one, both the designer and the client can never have their peace of mind.

Not Meeting Deadlines

A client sets a deadline for each projects. However, there are inexperienced and amateurish artists who work according to their  own sweet time. Consequently, they end up meeting deadlines, or rush  at the last minute producing poor quality work.

As a client, you should hire designers who are smart at meeting deadlines. Such designers under promise , but over deliver!

Unavailable to Answer Client Queries

A business logo project is difficult to design, and requires  the availability of the designer over phone or online. An unprofessional  makes their client wait for days to get a query answered or resolved.

Sometimes, clients want to update you on the project you are working on. Being unavailable implies that you are jeopardizing the project as well as your career.

Being Too Trendy!

This is the greatest blunder committed. A logo that is designed by borrowing elements from already established brands will fail to make a mark!  One has to be original and creative to create something memorable.  It is always better to be a trend setter than a follower of trends.

Not Understanding the Business and Audience

You will risk your project if you hire someone having a vague understanding of the business and its targeted audience. There are designers out there who rush on the designs without even knowing what the business is all about or the kind of audience it is targeting.

They even create a logo that is not flexible enough. It might look well well on the company business card, but appears pixelated on a web page!

Reacting Negatively to Feedbacks

Whatever you design, there will be some amount of client feedback. There are designers who take suggestions or feedback negatively. They think they are meant to hurt their personal egos. This kind of pessimistic attitude affects the quality of a project.

One must always learn from their mistakes, and not take it on a personal level.

Confusing Design with Multiple Fonts

A good logo should ideally contain not more than two fonts. One for the tag-line, and the other for the brand name. However, designers are often plagued by blunders such as using multiple fonts. This makes it look too cluttered and confusing!

Newbie or amateurish designers should learn to design professionally, and avoid committing these errors.
