I can honestly say that over the last 16 years of my training experience I have tried every exercise protocol invented. Testing exercise protocols either on myself or on my clients has given me the edge to create the perfect fat loss systemwhich yields amazing results.

I've tested my program throughout the years on every body type and age group of people who are concerned with the last 10 stubborn pounds they want to lose. I recently had the chance to test my fat loss program on identical twins-the last group I had yet to work with.

Just recently,Optimal Workout Intensity For Maximal Fat Loss Articles I had two twin brothers (Angelo and Phil) hire me to design training routines for them.  They are both wrestlers and needed to lose body fat while simultaneously improving their conditioning.  This is my specialty, and I was very excited to work with them.

I was tempted to give them two different exercise routines (to monitor the results of each).  But instead, I gave them the exact same routine, since they had the exact same goals, similar injury histories, and they were going to be training together at school.   Considering that all of the variables were identical, I was expecting comparable results for both of them.

The twins came back after a month for their evaluation and for their next workout plan. I checked their body fat percentages and I was amazed at what I found!

When I evaluated the guys after month one I found that Angelo had lost merely two pounds whereas Phil lost an astonishing nine pounds of fat! Both Phil and Angelo ate all meals together so my assumption that Angelo was cheating on his diet wasn't true.

I was really confused as to why these identical twins were reacting so differently to my workout so I had them workout with me. I quickly realized why Phil and Angelo were getting different results and it simply came down to Angelo's low-intensity workout (or his laziness). Phil was working much harder and was way more focused than his brother.

In fact, Angelo trained in such slow motion that Phil actually lapped him about halfway through their workout.  It was no surprise that Phil had gotten significantly better results then his brother did.    In addition, its not a shocker that Phil is a great wrestler while Angelo is just mediocre.  The point is simply this: although genetics do play a role in your appearance and athletic performance, work ethic is a HUGE component of your success.  As a matter of fact, without it, you are doomed to mediocrity, no matter how talented or gifted you are.

Increasing your intensity during your workout will undoubtedly skyrocket your fat loss and muscle development to the next level. So next time you're at the gym, make sure you're working out like Phil and not like Angelo!
