How to Install BMW E90 Radio with Android Car DVD

Have you upgraded Android Car DVD of BMW E90 successfully? If not, then how to install car audio system of E90/E91/E92/E93? Here are some installation instructions for it, pretty easy and convenient.

Generally, it can be divided to 7 steps:

1. Remove the panel, and pull out the climate control plug. Remove the 2 fixed screws by Philips screwdriver, and pull out the original cd player.

1. Unplug the radio antenna and power cable of the unit. Remove the 4 pcs of star screws from the original fixed frame (Prepare a star screwdriver T20). And 2 pcs of 8mm hexagonal screws.

1. Take out the original fixed frame. Connect well the power cable, Canbus cable, Radio adapter of D5165 unit. Remove the A-pillar protective cover by a flathead screwdriver, and remove the screws by a star screwdriver to take out the A-pillar, so as to lead the GPS antenna from the left to the head unit position. Remove the left protective cover. Prepare a thin pipe.

1. Fix the GPS antenna well, and lead the GPS cable to get through the gap. (So as to hide the cable under the protective cover, and avoid any broken on GPS cable). Lead GPS cable to the center console with a thin pipe.

1. Install the left & the A-pillar protective covers to their original position. Fix the MIC Cable well. Lead the MIC cable from the bottom to the center console. Remove the climate control panel. The rubber on the 2 sides of the climate control will stick out when installing the climate control panel, so it is required to remove the rubber by combination pliers. Polish the cut part by polish tool, and install the climate control panel above the head unit.

1. Put the USB & iPod cables to the glove box. Open the cover. Remain the USB & iPod cables in the glove box which are led from the center console. Reinstall the cover. Connect all cables well, such as MIC cable, power cable, iPod cable, radio adapter, GPS cable and also the cables for climate control panel.

1. Take out the rubber stopper from the 2 sides of the head unit. Install the head unit, and put the rubber to the original place to seal well the screw hole. Installation is completed.
