Yet as excited as you may be about starting a woodworking business,Getting Started in Your Woodworking Business Articles this may be a time of anxiety and trepidation, too. After all, you likely don’t have a lot of business waiting for you, so you have to take steps to establish your new business. Here are some tips:

Get the Word Out

One of the best things you can do when you are just starting out with your woodworking business is spread the word to family and friends. Don’t just rush into this and fire off an email, but instead give it some though, draft a great email, include photos as samples of your work, and absolutely include a link to your web page. Your web page should be up and running before you make your big announcement. Ask friends and family to forward your email, and also be sure to create a business profile on Facebook so that your friends and family can “like” your page.

Regular Efforts

After that big announcement has been made about your home woodworking business, you will want to make a regular, daily effort to keep your name and services in front of people. Make a post every couple of days on your Facebook profile, and here you can showcase a new piece, write a short update that is designed to generate need and interest in your services, or something similar. Other regular efforts should be to drive traffic to your website through backlinking, search engine optimization strategies, and more.

Develop a Plan

Marketing for your woodworking business can seem a bit like it’s off the cuff and unplanned, but this isn’t the case at all. Quite a bit of basic marketing philosophy has to do with staying in front of people, and this includes all areas of your marketing efforts. So you will constantly want to write blog posts, write articles that drive traffic to your website, keep your Facebook status updated, and more. You don’t want to do this willy-nilly, though, so you will want to create a plan of action where you are constantly and regularly working on marketing in all of these various areas.
