Liqueurs are a type of alcoholic drink that is made with fruit, herbs, or spices. They can be served as an after-dinner beverage, with dessert, and on many other occasions

Liqueurs come in all shapes and sizes; some popular ones include Bailey's Irish Cream and Amaretto Disaronno.

Some cocktails made from liqueurs like pina colada liqueur or others include the Pina Colada, Mudslide and the Long Island Iced Tea. Liqueurs can also be served on their own in a glass, but most people would prefer to have them with coffee or tea after a meal. They are best consumed at room temperature. Dessert liqueurs such as salted caramel Irish cream should not be iced because it will make the drink taste flat and watery when cooled down too much. However, some fruit-based liqueur drinks like Cherry Lambrini ice very well for this purpose.

 

In general, fruity berries like the raspberry liqueurs pair well with desserts that go heavy on sweet flavors from fruits particularly cherries and berries of all kinds including strawberries, blueberries raspberries etc. Lemon is another popular flavor. Other great flavors used for fruit liqueurs are pineapple, passionfruit, and other tropical exotic fruits, which bring in an exquisite flavor and sweetness to the liqueur making them very much a beverage that is easy on the palate. They are at their best when infused with other ingredients in fantastic cocktails and mixes. Don’t forget though that liqueurs unlike other alcohol beverages, have very low ABV’s.

 

Liqueurs can be enjoyed at any time of day and even throughout meals. A popular liqueur is Grand Marnier Liqueur which tastes like hazelnut chocolate and makes a great after dinner treat. If looking for something different, try Frangelico. Liqueurs are meant to be drunk anytime especially during celebrations such as weddings & birthdays!
