Precious stones are unique and suit everyone when complemented with ideal clothes. Like your clothes,How to Adorn your Precious Stones? Articles precious stone jewellery defines your identity and adds glamour to your simple persona. So precious stones deserve a little care, the simplest way to adorn them is a little cleaning and storage care.

As stones used in jewellery are irreplaceable mostly four simple yet important tools can help you to protect precious stones

·         Cloth- While cleaning precious stones always use soft cloth fabric, approximately of the size of a small square which ensures ample space to place the stone in the centre and wipe or dry the entire stone in one attempt. Usually cotton fabric is used as there is no risk of fabric fibres residue left behind when cleaning precious stones.

·         Soap- Always use mild soaps and washing liquids, as they may corrode, crack and permanently damage the stones

·         Water- Warm water is sometimes used as water can also hamper gems

·         Storage Boxes- Sometimes well ventilated storage units as some gems may crack if kept in closed boxes. Storage boxes with compartments are used  to prevent them from striking against each other.

However every precious stone is unique and different techniques are used for every stone. So care must be taken while handling the various varieties of precious stones namely Diamonds, Amber, Sapphire, Ruby, Opal, Pearl, Emeralds and Turquoise.

·         Diamonds are eternal and forever, but over time and by using constantly, precious stones may lose their charm. As diamonds are durable the best way to clean them is by immersing them in a mixture of ammonia and warm water, however diamonds should not be scrubbed harshly as diamonds may develop scratches. Diamonds should be stored separately as they could bump against each other.

·         Precious stones like Sapphire, Ruby should be cleaned gently by using mild detergent and wiped thoroughly before storing.

·         Always use clean Emeralds by simply rising with water and wipe dry before storage, never use soap or warm water as this may crack emerald as they are sensitive as compared to other precious stones.

·         Opal should always be cleaned using soft cloth by applying little soap which is mild and before storing they must wiped dry and stored in a well-ventilated container, otherwise opals tend to crack when stored in closed boxes.

·         Use soft dry cloth to clean Turquoise and nothing else as cleaning soaps or water could damage turquoise or even discolour it forever.

·          Luster distinguishes purity of pearls. So before wearing pearl jewellery always wipe with a damp cloth.

·         The unique honey shade makes Amber distinct, so always clean Amber with a humidified cloth.

Gem jewellery is gaining popularity as compared to gold or silver they are always superior in quality and in value. Mostly jewellery pieces are made of variety of gems, so always buy necklaces, bangles or even rings of same gems otherwise cleaning and maintenance can be tough.  Normal 0 false false false EN-IN X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-ansi-language:EN-IN;}
