Every body knows that the ship will float in sea whereas a small pebble cannot and will sink. Every body also knows that the weight of the ship is far higher when compared to the weight of a small pebble.  How could such a giant ship float whereas the small pebble sinks?  It is all about the property of surface tension of the water or physics of water.

The surface tension of water or any liquid is the force exerted by the surface of the liquid to resist the pressure of other objects.  The ship float because it does not disrupt the surface tension of the water as its weight is evenly balanced throughout whereas weight of the pebble is located unevenly,Surface tension and bosses preference Articles therefore it rupture or affect the ‘surface tension’ of the sea water and hence it sinks.

Let the ship float or pebble sink, what relevance it has for the corporate?  Surface tension plays a very important role in people-people relationship and boss–subordinate interaction in most corporate.

Many occasions, people used to speak about the fact that many top management people in the organization are doing nothing but are receiving huge salary. Besides that such people are also well appreciated by the entrepreneur of the company, whereas, people who get very meager salary in the organization are targeted rudely or shown the door.

Some time a person with no contribution can be appreciated and liked by the boss whereas someone in the same level/cadre with great contribution may be disliked or never been appreciated by the same boss.  Why such disparities exist in most corporate?  How contribution of people are overlooked or sidelined and what else would have been the key preference of the boss in the organization over performance?  People may break their head and mind to find an answer to the above question.

It is not the mere performance that creates the difference but how one deal with the surface tension of the boss.  Like ship in the sea, one can float if he or she does not affect the surface tension or resisting power of the boss or may sink like a pebble if they fail to adjust with the surface tension of the boss.

The performance is only one part of the story.  In people-people interaction, the science of surface tension and how one deal the above matters.

The message to be understood by the corporate employees is that if they learn to float, they can swim and save, otherwise, they may sink and die.  The same water in the pond that can easily carry you if you know how to protect the surface tension of the water and the same pond can kill if you break the resistance power of the water.  This is the message corporate employees has to learn from the science called physics.
