Transmission forms a very important and versatile part of your vehicle. Let us learn about some of the basic working methods involved in c4 transmissions. In case of rear wheel drive,Working of c4 transmissions: get inside Articles c4 transmissions make use of three speed automatic transmission. There are much improvements being made. It now replaces the heavy weight iron automatic transmission to light weight aluminium case and all improved internal means in it. Hence, this makes c4 transmissions so much popular especially in case of higher applications in vehicles. C4 works as any other kind of transmission that works automatically. You do not have any gears or clutch to follow. There is an automatic shifting and also automatic sequencing of the internal actions that are taking place. All actions that are taking place inside are result of the high-pressure flow of transmission fluids.
Connecting the hardware
C4 transmission has simple design and they are coupled to engine with torque converter. This converter easily bolts to the bellhousing fitting around converter. This is further bolted directly to the engine block. Torque converter has a snout in rear and when engines operate, it is filled up with fluid. There is a seal around the snout and it enters the front of transmission preventing any fluid leakage.
Operation of transmission
As soon as the fluid enters the transmission, it gets its route through valves and passageways. It further applies pressure to the baskets and the rotating clutches, which are responsible for driving internal gears. You will find different transmission getting engaged with different portions of transmission. This also depends on which gear positions does the driver selects. The internal clutches does not engage if the park pressure is very slow. There is neutral position when lower pressure is applied. Input and output shaft do not couple is there is no force applied to the clutches. This drives more power to the wheels and that is more forceful. The movement of higher gears are totally governed by the pressure and speed of the rotating components in the transmission. Higher drive equally engaged till there is complete transmission coupling to the output shaft’s final drive when there is sufficient speed of vehicle. This makes the total working of the c4 transmission in any vehicle with good automatic technique being followed in these kinds of transmission modes. It maintains equal balance between internal and external clutches and this helps in smooth and easy movement of vehicle.
