Writing books is not everyone’s forte,Write Books for Money – Becoming a Ghostwriter Articles and that is why ghost-writers have a definite place in the world of literature. You may ask what a ghostwriter is, and what purpose one serves, so here is s brief look at the world of the ghostwriter, and how you can become one and make some useful money along the way.

Put simply, a ghostwriter is someone who writes a book or article, but who allows the credit to be taken by another in exchange for payment. Take a look at the best-seller lists at any time during the year and you will find the non-fiction charts full of celebrity autobiographies; in truth, most of these will not have been written by the celebrity themselves, but by a ghostwriter working with the individual and drawing on their personal anecdotes and information to create the life story.

The advantage is that the subject gets a well written book that sells well, and the ghostwriter gets paid to write it.

There are advantages to ghost-writing, and one major disadvantage: anything you write as a ghostwriter will not have your name on it. If you can live with this, however, you can make some very good money as people who are looking to hire writers tend not to have the talent to write well themselves, hence are willing to pay quite well.

Finding works to ghost-write can be done in many ways: use your internet search engine to find freelance writers wanted, browse industry magazines with classifieds, and advertise your services on one of the many freelance writing websites that populate the internet these days.

Further advice includes choosing subjects that you are familiar with; there will always be a select group of minor personalities looking to put there words in print, but more often than not you will find that commercial entities – companies – want ghost-writers to produce instruction manuals and ‘how to’ guides that will be used to further their business.

Another area of ghost-writing that is popular is blogging; many blogs feature regular entries that purport to be by the entrant but are actually written by someone else, and very often business types will want speeches and presentations written.

Books, however, are the ultimate aim of the ghostwriter, and while jumping in at the deep end may be possible for some, the trick is to build up your confidence – and others confidence in you – by beginning with short articles and progressing through the ranks; this way, you develop a style, iron out your faults and are well on the way to making money by ghost-writing books.
