Protecting the Apps of Your iPad By Adding A Password

When you use your iPad in front of any your friends, they are sure to ask you to show them your iPad to get the hands-on feeling. However, you cannot compromise on allowing someone to tamper your private data on your iPad. You can let anyone to access your iPad as this may allow them to view your emails, chat history, business documents and so on. Hence, Apple strongly advises all iPad users to safeguard their data by creating a password. Whenever the iPad is turned on, the device will prompt the user to enter the security password. In addition to this, iPad also lets you protect specific applications by adding password protection to it.

Here is how you can password protect the apps on your iPad:
1. From the homescreen, you need to tap on Settings which will lead you to all the general setting options. It will also let you password protect the specific functions of the iPad. Here you will find settings for all the important apps such as email, iPod, photos, videos and browser.
2. You need to choose 'Settings' and then 'Restrictions'. You will then see a list of apps along with check box for each app with caption 'Enable Restrictions'.
3. By tapping on 'Enable Restrictions' box, you can enable the password prompt. It will then ask you enter a password by saying 'Set Passcode'. Its appearance will be similar to the screen that prompts for password when you turn on your iPad.
4. Here you need to enter four-digit password. Make sure you input easy to remember password. This password will allow you to protect specific apps. It is totally different the device code.
5. Next, you need to select the other apps that you want to protect with the same password. When you are done with it, you can tap on Done to end the process.
