There are a number of options for reading and getting book (eBook) content to your iPad. The iPad is a great device for reading books.   1. The iPad has an application for book reading - iBooks. It has a quality layout, page turning and user interface work well, and the fact that no light is required makes it convenient to read books at night - in bed for example. There are sure to be additional reading applications as developers expand in to writing apps for the iPad.
  2. One method of finding books is the iTunes store. This is convenient as it is easy to access, and there are some free titles available.
  3. If you have your own book content available you can put them on your iPad by dragging the ".epub" file to the iTunes application and sync your iPad. Then you can view them in iBooks. It is even possible to use certain desktop publishing or authoring programs to generate epub formatted files for writers/authors.
  4. Finally there are eBook web sites that you can join and browse various books, newspapers and comics. The advantage of this option is it dedicated to electronic book content, so there are a lot of options - a lot of content, and it is updated often. Also, it is easier to find content than the navigation system of the iTunes store.
