In Hearthstone,Earning Gold in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft Articles there are a couple of ways to buy packs in order to obtain the cards you need in a deck. The first and costly way is to use real money to buy a pack or several packs at a time which gives you the advantage of unlocking and acquiring cards that you need quickly. The second and my preferred way to buy packs is to use gold. Although farming gold can be time-consuming, I usually don't notice time passing while playing the game because I'm having fun. At the end of my run, I usually have enough gold to buy a pack or enter Arena mode. To make the most gold out of my run, I complete daily quests, unlock achievements, win in Play mode, and survive in Arena mode.
Daily QuestsA daily quest is a random, once a day quest that pops up every time a player logs in. These quests are simple such as winning two games using a specific class which would award 40 gold. There are also quests that need a bit more grinding like winning five games using a specific class which would give 60 gold. One quest that has yet to pop up in my screen is the Total Dominance quest. It requires a player to win 7 games in any mode, and the completion of the quest pays 100 gold. Also, it is important to note that when I fail to login in, I notice that I can do quest that I missed as far back as two days ago. Doing daily quests is easy that's why I prefer to complete it first before moving on to other areas of the game.
Unlocking AchievementsNowadays, games have feats or achievements that need to be tracked to make the most of the game's content. Achievements encourage the player to enjoy every aspect of the game while granting in-game rewards. Knowing Blizzard, I know I need to do a little research and list what these achievements are. Reddit.com summarizes the achievements that pay gold:Achievement/GoldWin 100 games in any mode - 300Win 1000 games in any mode - 300Defeat every Expert AI Hero - 100Collect every card in the Basic Set - 100Collect every card in the Expert Set - 100Defeat every Expert AI Hero - 100
The total payout for unlocking these achievements is 1000 gold. Earning that amount of gold gives a player the power to purchase six packs with change.
Farm Gold in Play ModeAfter I have unlocked all the possible achievements I can in my run, I move on to the heart of the game which is the Play mode. To maximize my victories, I started playing casual games where newbies get their first taste of action. It's easy to win 3 games and get 10 gold playing casual games. Sometimes, I shift from playing a casual game to a ranked game to change the difficulty so that I can have more fun while farming gold.
Survive in Arena ModeProbably the most difficult way to farm gold is to enter the Arena mode. In this mode, each player is given three chances at losing before the player gets booted. Although the initial entry in the Arena is on the house, every subsequent entry costs 150 gold. My first entry was not very fruitful as I experienced three straight tough losses. The payout was a pack of cards and 30 gold. As I competed and gained experience, I was able to string a few Ws and received 60 gold. In a nutshell, the more wins in this mode, the higher the payout gold will be.
ConclusionI have gathered a significant amount of gold by following my systematic daily runs. By completing daily quests, unlocking achievements, farming in Play mode, and surviving in Arena mode, I was able to purchase a lot of packs, and I'm now well on my way in this season's Ranked Play.
