·         If you have inadvertently installed two or more mouse software like Logitech or touchpad software then it can affect the mouse performance and thus can become the reason of defected hardware. For resolving this problem, uninstall the conflicting programs by using the following steps:

1.      Click on Start button and type appwiz.cpl in Start SearchBox.

2.      Then find other mouse software in this list and uninstall it form the computer by ADD/Remove Wizard.

3.      Then Restart the Computer.

·         Reinstall the updated version of IntelliPoint software: for removing the Intellipoint software follow these steps:

1.      Click on Start button and in Start Search Box type appwiz.cpl then press Enter.

2.      Then remove Microsoft Intellipoint form the list.

3.      Go to Microsoft Support site Install and download the updated version of Microsoft Intellipoint software.
