With watercolor or oil paint,Consecrating Nature:The Paintings of Anna Galea Articles Anna Galea observes plant life, laying leaves and petals on the canvas. Often, she honors the natural elegance of her subjects with attentive realism. Tranquil green hues hazily form into sunlight filtering through plants. Buds emerge from misty landscapes. Galea’s images reflect shifting focuses and the ethereal beauty of flora. Often shown with dramatic lighting that allows the artist to make the most of the semitransparent plant structures, Galea's subjects pulse with life, celebrating the harmony of light and color.

Today, Anna Galea works from her Malta based studio as well as from Dubai. Her watercolor work has been honored as masterful both in the United States and abroad in Europe where as recently as spring of 2016 she was a featured master watercolor demonstrator at the International Watercolor Convention in Fabriano, Italy.

About the Exhibition

Enigmatic Visions

Enigmatic Visions is a new group exhibition from Agora Gallery highlighting a range of exceptionally thoughtful work from eleven contemporary artists. In watercolor, photography, oil, ink, and acrylic, the participants find exciting new ways to create focus. One painter reduces the seascape to a single color, using a palette that is at once strict and infinitely flexible in its endless shades of blue. Another draws all the textural possibilities out of just one kind of brushstroke. A third uses abstraction to surround and isolate his subjects. Enigmatic Visions uses the traditional themes of domesticity, nature, and formal beauty to dive deeper into the details of everyday life.
