Cash4 is a daily lottery game that involves four-digits. Two drawings are held everyday with one drawing held during the day and the other held during the night. You can bet on the same numbers for fourteen consecutive times, or seven days straight. Bets are between 50 cents and $1.00. However, bets for the Combo play vary.

There are four major play options that you can choose from. Once you make your choice, do not forget to mark the play option on your lotto ticket, or the computer will automatically set your ticket to straight play.

Straight

In order for you to win the Cash4 Straight play, your lucky number combination should match the numbers drawn in their exact order. If the winning lottery numbers are 3489, your number combination would have to be 3489 as well for you to win.

Box

Your chosen numbers do not have to be in the same order as the numbers that were drawn to win the Box play. Because it does not have the same restrictions as the Straight play, the Box play is easier to win. However, the jackpot for the Straight play is much higher.

If you decide to play Box, you will choose among four different ways to play it. The first one, which is called 4-way, has three identical numbers and one distinct number such as 1112, 3334, and 5556. 6-way is the second way to play it and it contains two sets of two identical numbers, such as 1122, 2233, and 3344. The third way, which is called 12-way, contains a single set of identical numbers and two different numbers, such as 1123, 2234, and 3345. The last way of playing Box is the 24-way, which contains four distinct numbers, such as 1234.

Straight/Box

Straight/Box play is a combination of the Straight and Box plays. It exists so that players will not have to mark their number combination twice on the lotto ticket, if they want to play both options. If you choose Straight/Box, you will be paying $1.00 since it covers two different play options.

Combo

Combo is played by placing bets on all possible arrangements of your chosen numbers. For number combinations that have four different arrangements, such as 1112, 1121, 1211, and 2111, you will be paying $4. If the number combination has six arrangements, you will be paying $6. For number combinations with twelve and fourteen combinations, you will pay $12 and $24 respectively.

Odds Of Winning

For the Straight play, your chances of hitting the Cash4 jackpot are one in ten thousand. These odds may be better than most other lottery games, but it still is difficult to win. There are 10 number combinations of quads. There are 270 number combinations for the 6-way box play, 360 number combinations for 4-way box play, 4,320 number combinations for 12-way box play, and 5,040 number combinations for 24-way box play.

Because there are so many number combinations to choose from, it is best to find formulas or strategies that will help you win in Cash4. Narrowing down the number of combinations could prove to be very helpful and it might even help you to win the jackpot. A good way to do this is to make a list of the number combinations that were drawn for the past 60 drawings. Study all of them carefully and look for the numbers and the combinations that came out in those past drawings most often. To make things easier and less confusing, you can tally using a piece of paper and a pen. Once you get all of these numbers, you can then start formulating your own combination(s).
