It's hard to say for sure,Nice Dog Beds Help Take Away our Guilt Articles but from what I can tell, most dogs aren't very picky about where they sleep. Dog beds of all sorts seem to serve them well enough. I once had a dog who refused to sleep anywhere but outside on this old blanket. He was smart, but stubborn when it came to where he wanted to sleep. The dog I have now is much more diverse. He can crash anywhere. Whether it's in the wood shed, in the boy's room, on the front porch, or on the carpet in front of the fireplace, he just doesn't care. But that's not to say that dog's don't care at all. Given the opportunity to have a comfortable place to call their own at bed time will certainly bring a smile to any dog's face.

But do dogs really care what they sleep on? Maybe. It does seem like dog beds are really just creations of people who transfer what they prefer, to what they think their dog will like. Something soft. Something cozy. And who's to say they're wrong. After all, it makes sense that dogs would want a soft, comfy place to sleep. This seems like a good idea. Plus, it helps people deal with their guilt. And we have many reasons to feel that way. We yell at our dogs to shut up. We kick them out of the house for random reasons that they can't understand. We feed them the same boring thing day in and day out. We pen them up in yards and kennels. We don't play with them 24 hours a day like they want us to, and we demand that they do what we say, when we say it. When they don't, they get in trouble. So, it makes sense that we would want to do something nice for our four-legged friends. Giving them dog beds that are comfortable and durable is the least we can do for them.

So what are some of the options? There are really only a few basic dog beds out there. The first kind is usually made out of some sort of durable fabric like canvas, and filled with either a batting-type material, or sometimes cedar chips or other wood shavings. These are very popular. They are light weight, can handle lots of wear and tear, and don't cost much. Some of these are even machine washable, which is a real plus if your dog, uh, does something on it he shouldn't. Just unzip the cover and remove the inner liner. These are nice since some dog beds don't allow washing.

In today's world where everything is about reducing, reusing, and recycling, some companies are even making dog beds that can be recycled. The Big Shrimpy, for example, has a program where people can send in their old dog beds so that the polyester fiber fill can be recycled, as well as the fabrics.

Here's an idea you may not have considered when it comes to dog beds. How about a bed that you fill with water so that it keeps your dog cool? What a great idea. K&H Pet Products makes a dog bed called the Cool Bed. These come in various sizes and don't have to be plugged into an electrical source, can be used both indoors and out, have a super durable exterior surface that holds up to lots of use, and comes with a 2 year warranty, and all for under $100 bucks.

We love our dogs and they deserve nice dog beds to sleep on. Plus, when we do something nice for them it takes away our guilt. They do so much for us that it is the least we can do for them.
