For some years experts in IT have been saying within a few years will all be in a paper-free office, an office that is conscious of the environment so doesn't use paper. Whether this is true or not is unclear but any office can cut back on paper and reap all of the benefits.

There is more than one reason why a Chicago office should cut back on paper consumption,Some good ways to update your Chicago office into a paperless office Articles for one the blatant environmental benefits, then the amount of money you can save and also because paper is not always the safest way to hold confidential and private data.So for companies moving to a new Chicago office in a new location then here are some pieces of advice to make it a paperless and modern office, as compiled.1) Firstly, work out where in Chicago is your nearest recycling facility. As a manager you need to work out where the recycling facility is and how to get there from the office. It will also be of benefits to arrange a collection service, as depending on your location in Chicago it might be quite a distance to the facility.2) Next, use emails rather than paper letters. The move effective and easy to implement ways to reduce paper usage in the office is to use emails and instead messaging instead of fax machines, memos and sending letters. By doing this you will reduce the outgoings of the office and make workers more productive as they won't be wandering around the office delivering memos but instead can just click the button and in seconds the email is sent.3) Journals, marketing materials and even the local daily paper can all be read on the internet, which means a paper copy is completely redundant. This is the case as using paper to make magazines is one of the most unnecessary and wasteful uses of paper that there is. What I mean by this is that 99 percent of the time papers and magazines just end up in the trash, so if that is the case then it is just a giant waste of paper. And if you choose to have a digital copy sent by email then you can utilise the content of journals in a report or presentation more easily than if you had a paper copy.4) Perhaps you could try an office white board instead of post-its. Office staff always need to scribble something down and more often than not this is on a post-it note however in a paper-free office you might to buy a whiteboard and use that instead. A whiteboard can be used and reused many times and is a good way to brainstorm with your workers and flesh out some of their ideas. Therefore if you invest in a whiteboard you will be able to save a lot of money on the wasteful usage of office paper. So if you have just taken Chicago office space, then make sure you go to a stationary shop for a board.5) And just so you know it's not all about A4 paper, paper-free means much more. It also means using an air heater to dry your hands in the bathroom rather than paper towels and by using coffee mugs rather than paper cups. There are dozens of simple things you can do to cut back on the amount of paper you use, it may even be as easy as putting a few posters on the walls to encourage staff to minimise their use of paper.Just a few months ago one of the companies I work with relocated to a Chicago office and they used the office relocation as a way to implement new recycling and paper usage guidelines. In the end they saved quite a lot of money and their workers became very efficient when using paper.
