"Michelle, In Your Opinion, What Really Is The Best Time To Workout?"

mediaimage

I'll start by saying,I Get Asked This Question All The Time... Articles I am a 43-year-old mother of 2 with the typical daily changing hormones and a slow metabolism that comes with being in my 40s yet I have the body of a fit girl in her 20s. My point here is that I don't workout in the mornings and I don't workout at the same time everyday and yet I have the body of my dreams. I read alot about the best times to workout and that we MUST set workout schedules to have better success. I personally don't believe that you HAVE to workout in the morning. I'm living proof of that. For me, I don't set a workout schedule either. I can't. It doesn't work that way for me. I just know that at some point throughout the 16-18 hours that I'm awake, I WILL get in a workout. It's as simple as that. My life most days has no order to it. Things can change in a second. One minute I think I'm going to start a workout and the next thing you know, I have to run to Target at the last minute and buy a poster board for one of my kid's school projects that they forgot to tell me about. Sometimes it's midnight when I get that workout done (but I'm a night owl so this works). I workout when I can but without fail, I do get a workout in 6 days a week. Sundays is my rest day on my P90X schedule. The way I see it, doing my P90X workouts 6 days a week totals in time to about 9 hours. A little over an hour a day is all it takes and some days the workouts are under an hour long. Plus, I don't have to drive anywhere. I can wear an old t-shirt and a pair of shorts with a hole in them because I'm in the comfort of my own home.

I always try and remind people to pay attention to the time we waste watching several back-to-back re-runs on Netflix. Don't get me wrong, I have a crazy and hectic life but I still get my workout in and I watch Netflix at night. We're talking an hour a day workout here, guys! That's it! It all boils down to just DECIDING to COMMIT to getting in shape. Once you have your mind made up to do this, it is instantly a priority in your life. So don't stress over WHEN to do your workout, just DO IT! We have enough on our plates. Just knock it out when you can and you'll feel so accomplished when it's over.
