There are many reasons why the "divine" Amalfi Coast is renowned in the world. It offers fantastic panoramic views and very characteristic beaches,Good Food on the Amalfi Coast Articles lapped by a crystal clear sea and home to many local luxury and fashionable shops and last but not least, there is the opportunity to indulge in long walks following nature trails of rare beauty.
Now, as if that were not enough, there is another equally important reason to choose the Amalfi Coast as your Holiday destination: Great Food.
As already mentioned, in fact, the coastline is characterized by the presence of the totally unspoiled places where there is very little human presence. Here the animals can graze and grow in pure and clean air and earth.
It goes without saying that the food produced in the Coast has a better advantage for better quality. Although the influence of Neapolitan cooking is very present here, in fact, even the pizza is well reputated in being very good, as well as the fish based dishes.
The hills that rise behind the towns, in fact, allow the cultivation and processing of specialty and tasty products. In this case you may take the cheeses as an example. Most of them come from Monti Lattari,  named by the ancient Romans who had been present here in assisting in free grazing of goats and cows.
Among all the dairy products in this area, the salty ricotta is the most famous local specialty. Then there are the dairies from Agerola, that are renowned for their Provolone del Monaco, a cheese made of not too hard spun paste, that comes from the typical cows of  agerolesi.
The typical land platforms of the Amalfi host various kinds of crops, but of course the emphasis is placed on lemons. The sfusato Amalfitano is the fruit of geographical protection, which is characterized by a very intense aroma and flavor with a  flesh that is not too harsh. From the sfusato is obtained the traditional limoncello, a delicious liqueur, just like accomplished in Sorrento and Capri.
The land platforms, although more suited for the lemons are also used for the cultivation of grapes, from which are extracted some excellent wines just like the famous Costa D'Amalfi.
A real specialty, a treat for connoisseurs is the anchovy oil. This is derived from anchovies, left  in marination with salt and various herbs which is used to flavor other dishes. A typical specialty of the village of Cetara, in fact, is the spaghetti with anchovy sauce.
In the nearby town of  Minori the most famous pasta and still very popular is the "Ndunderi",which is very similar to gnocchi and really tasty served with sauce, mozzarella and a basil leaf.
And after all this good from God? Well, you can not miss the sweets. Here, as also in the Sorrento Peninsula , many desserts are characterized by the presence of a tasty lemon cream. Whether it's baba, lobster tails or different types of cakes, such as the lemon delight, this is for sure one of the inevitable  ingredients used for the coastal pastries.
One of the best ways to enjoy all these specialties is to stay in a farmhouse on the Amalfi Coast. The advantages are for reasons that are not even needed to explain: a good farm will be able to provide most of these delicacies on the location itself, sometimes allowing you to attend the gathering and preparation of the products.
The benefits of a rustic farmhouse is therefore ideal for those who want to spend  their holidays on the Amalfi Coast with great food as a priority!
