If you are one of those legions of pancake lovers, you will love these facts. For those of you who don’t know what pancakes are, pancakes are thin flat cakes made from batter and fried in a skillet or on a griddle, thus the alternate name griddlecake.

If you are French, this wouldn’t amuse you- In France, while holding a coin in one hand, the frying pan is touched with the other, and a wish is made as the pancake is tossed. This is quite a common practice.

Jan Stickland is a man who holds yet another record of sorts- for covering 345 meters in 59.5 seconds(running) while tossing pancakes.

What are known as Russian blins are actually thin pancakes made of buckwheat batter. They’re usually had with caviar and sour cream, or alternately with jam and cream cheese.

Another pancake tossing record- celebrated chef Aldo Zilli holds the honour this time for tossing the highest pancake- an amazing 329cm, back in the year 2005.
