CBD Packaging Is a Broad Term That Covers the Product Packaging. Here’s What You Need to Know!

There are already many cannabidiol related products in the market, and the number seems to be ever-increasing. The industry that was once known for the vapes and oils has now included many products as well. Now, there is a whole range of CBD creams, ointments, balms, and many other different products in the market.  

 The CBD market is expanding at a really fast pace and adding new members in terms of both brands selling them and new products. With the passing of the hemp farming bill in 2018, and more states legalizing these products, the conditions are very much suitable for the hemp industry to flourish. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that the research on hemp and CBD is easier than before. So, it is expected that, like the cosmetics and self-care industry, other industries might also launch their CBD products. Spoiler alert, the pharma industry may be the next to join the bandwagon as a CBD-based drug for epilepsy has already gained the status of FDA approved medicine.  

 In this article, we will talk about some existing CBD products and their packaging. As the number of types of CBD products in the market is even hard to calculate, to begin with, we will confine ourselves to the famous products that are already present in the market. 

CBD Gummies and Their Packaging  

CBD gummies are regular gummies but with cannabidiol. According to the brands, the intake of these gummies results in the benefits you expect from CBD. A good thing about them is that they are flavored, which makes them easy to devour. Arguably, these gummies are the sweetest way of CBD intake if we do not count the CDB chocolates or chewing gums. But as the gummies are more mainstream, so we stick with the statement that they are the best way of CBD intake. As for their packaging needs, they come generally packed inside a jar as primary CBD packaging with a box as secondary packaging. Most of the CBD gummies boxes I have seen are standard tuck-top boxes. The downward side of the box may be a flap or auto bottom. The material of these boxes is generally standard cardboard.  

CBD Oils and Their Boxes  

CBD oils are another way of oral ingestion of cannabidiol. The oil may not taste half as good as the gummies, but all the benefits are there without the added sugars. A fun historical fact is that Dr. Mechoulam, aka father of cannabis research, also used CBD oil in his research to study its effects against epilepsy decades ago. That research has a historic role to play in the making of Epidiolex (the first FDA approved CBD based drug). These oils are packed inside glass bottles or tincture bottles as primary packaging and a cardboard or Kraft box as secondary packaging. The type of these boxes is usually tuck-top boxes, but some brands can be creative with the CBD packaging and use some other type of boxes.  

CBD Lip Balms and Their Boxes 

Because of the increasing influx of CBD in the cosmetics industry, I had to include a cosmetic product. CBD lip balms are regular lip balms that contain CBD. According to the brands who sell these products, these lip balms are better at healing lips. The research in the future will disclose if they actually have any benefits associated with them or not. However, they are high in demand, and so is their packaging. The packaging of these balms is either in a glass or plastic container with additional secondary packaging to protect the primary one.   

Apart from these three, there are many other CBD products in the market as well, with totally different packaging requirements.
