The United States is considered to one of the richest nations on earth, but it does have its share of rich illnesses that much of the world's population don't deal with. A good way to describe this is comparing the U.S. to less developed nations that have constant daily battles securing enough nutritional food and clean water to consume, in addition to not having access to life saving procedures and medications whenever they are needed. The U.S. is plagued with overeating that generally leads to laziness and lethargy of a wealthier society.

It is becoming a wake up call for many Americans that are realizing the importance of taking care of and being more responsible for their health because for the most part, no one else is going to do it for them. This has prompted a change in diet, regular exercise and recognizing the importance of getting enough quality sleep and rest every day. There is also a grass roots movement to increase the number of future years that are both healthier and more productive.

Of course, healthy living is not a guarantee of anything as genetics still weighs in heavily into an individuals predisposition to become ill or stay healthy and most families can look down their family blood line over the past generations and this can really help them to realize those diseases that are more likely to kill them and future generations as well. When it comes to health there are many different aspects of a person that factor in but even those who have the best possible genetics and a predisposition for longevity are also at risk to fall prey to bad lifestyle habits that can steal away those promised years.

With all this information, don't down play the importance of healthy living and the results it will produce. Eating right, exercising and keeping yourself well rested will help you stay healthy. Healthy habits can reinforce or create a good solid foundation that can be responsible for a long and healthy life and more years to enjoy the most important things in life; your family and all the future memories you will help make.
